Super Long No See

Hi everyone,

I wonder whether anyone still reads my blog after such a long absence in terms of posting...The lack of post is mainly due to the super, ultra, extremely busy Q4 2007. In fact my life has really ignited with the start of Q4 2007. Quitting my job, receiving life changing information from seminars, rushing a big business deal and having exams for my masters.....

I have really learnt so much stuff over the past quarter....Esp from the business deal...it's not really the profits but rather the experience gained...how the business process starts from sales right up to production, delivery, payment, procurement process/requirements etc....

My exams for my masters did not go that well....the course was really hard and i felt that the marking was unfair because it was on the same scale as the full time students....and most of them were scholars, they are really good and i dun tink i will ever beat them....I think i will defer a semester to concentrate on my new job....

Feeling excited about the new year...mainly because of the new job....at the same time I guess I have to wake up earlier , work longer hours and even on weekends....but seems that I have found back my drive because of this new job because it's much more relevant to my interest and much closer to the markets....The prospect of working in a foreign bank front office is really exciting....Wealth management will mean that I will be meeting alot of ppl as well as facing alot of rejections....but well that's part and parcel of it....my job is to create and manage ppl's wealth...

in fact most of my friends' reaction to my new job is that it really suits me...haha I hope everything will go well and hope everyone will support me by becoming my client..hahahh

About the recent markets, I can see that many ppl got burnt....or feeling v depressed over the sea of red in their portfolio....haha that's part and parcel of investing and trading....I guess some of you guys haven not went thru enough or are not experienced enough to hedge your positions when the indexes are at their peak....everything boils down to 1 rule: what goes up must come down and what goes down must go up too....Always hedge ur positions....on how to do it...hehe contact me personally...

Closed out on my STI Call Warrants at strike price 3500....good trade again...but it was a close shave...dangerously to my stop of 50% for it...in the end closed it for a profit of 20%...decided to take the profit....

Used the $ from the warrant to buy LottiVision which specialises in lottery business...the fundamentals and technical analysis looks good and I believe the earnings are quite stable for its business...plan to hold this until the Xmas rally.....

This month and next mth will b a good time to ambush for the Xmas rally...ppl who followed on DWS SG, LC Phillipines and Korea shld be just having very minor losses...by Dec shld be having some profits just in time for Xmas shopping....

For ppl who followed me with the warrant trade, congrats and my advice is to convert the $ into UT or some stocks and hold till Xmas...

Farewell to my beloved grandmother....

It's been a saddening week last week with the departure of my grandmother....it's particularly sudden because there was no signs beforehand and I just took my grad photos with her just a few days b4 it happened...but well I guess that's life....The good thing is that there was no pain or suffering on her part....

Over the past week, I have spent most of my time at my void deck....it's good in a way because I can keep my grandmother company...I don't like to show my sadness etc in front of all the visitors...so it's during the nite is when I can really have my own private time with my grandma...I feel very disappointed by the fact that the beliefs of some ppl actually prevent them from paying their last respects to their own kin...it's already the last you can do and yet you don't want to do it...*nothing to say*

it just shows how extreme these ppl have become and honestly it's very unhealthy for our society.....Well...everything is over and I don't feel like talking abt it any more...life goes on and I just hope everything goes well for my grandmother wherever she is....

Just started my lessons at SMU and it's really a nice campus....very conducive for studying and the administration is very helpful....lessons are pretty interesting but I tink sometimes I drift off easily maybe because I am tired after work....Hope I dun fail any modules...haha

For the markets....tink nowadays u can see many ppl face black black and it's because they r losing $....the contra players will be hurt most....for ppl who are holding on....it's ok...just lead ur life as usual and just wait for the recovery....what goes down will come up also....for those who have spare cash...congrats..it's time for bargain hunting...I maintain my BUY call for the funds listed in my previous posts....already done DCA for them...planning to buy more when it drops...haha pay day faster come....

Now i just wan to earn lots of $$, repay my mortgage loan for my parents, my 2 study loan etc and buy a car....and of cse in the process, staying healthy and spending as much time as possible with my family and friends...

Crash or Correction?? & STI chart

Hi everybody....I hope everyone is coping well with the subprime and credit woes on Wall Street....haha at least I am...if you take a look at the front page of fundsupermart, the top performing funds are all bond funds....if you are tinking of switching to bond funds, personally I think it's too late..US treasury yields are at their highest in 18 months and why should you buy at the peak?

On e other hand, equities seem cheap now...esp South East Asia Equities....basically it's a good time to buy in countries like Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia or SEA as a whole....Even Europe looks cheap....Just remember, buy within ur own limits....don't contra or buy with $ that you cant part with...that's what investing is all about....

Many ppl have asked me for help on what and when to buy and honestly there is no best time to buy or sell because no one knows the top and bottom of a trend....you can only position yourself to have better odds...

Look at the chart above and it's not hard to see that the STI has retraced abt 10% from the top of >3600 pts and support is forming at 3300 pts though it was briefly breached today...The way STI came back from down 120 points to close at abt down 53 points is a good sign...meaning buyers were back and there was quite alot of short covering....

The blue chip and banks actually look cheap now....it may not be cheapest but it's time to slowly buy the Singapore UT or ETFs....The top 3 banks in SG have strong earnings and if not for the subprime & BNP problems, i tink STI would have hit back to 3450 level today with strong growth forecast and bullish comments made by our leaders over NDP...The subprime problems do not really affect SG that severely because the exposure by the banks are not that great and I think they can easily earn back their $ from other areas....

Overall advice....buy and buy and buy more equities now....slowly and steadily and quietly....and i guess you will be just in time for a nice Xmas gift =) .... now is really the Great Singapore Sale for STI......

For more advanced players, you might wan to cover ur Long positions with some STI puts on the way STI recovers so as to hedge your exposure...

STI has been plunging....haha when i say this tink alot of ppl are going to kill me.....but I am happy....for a few reasons of cse....plunging simply implies more buying opportunities.....

Congrats on those who followed on HLG, ROWSLEY and BANJOO...the first 2 were good trades...but the 2nd one was not....but netting off the 3 and u shld get a pretty decent profit....

Those who followed on LC Phillipines maybe nursing around a 9% paper loss....but no worries....it's a UT....meaning a 10% is a vvvv good discount....so I will continue my BUY on LC Phillipines....do some dollar cost averaging on those who already invested....

Going to issue some BUY signals now....LC Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, DWS Singapore, LC SEA (Medium term: target 10% by December)

For long term investing....Star Buy will be Infinity 500 and Infinity European Stock Index....

For the more adventurous like me....STI call warrants with expiry 30 Oct....take loss 30% take profit 50%...STI is abit oversold now from the charts....but it may be a technical rebound....so be careful on the warrants.....The investors still wary of the Collaterised Debts Obligations (CDOs) exposure of the 3 major banks in Singapore....but UOB did well in their earnings and this should support the STI...

Watched Harry Potter with my dear last Sat and it was good....though not much action in the 1st half but the story was pretty nice....and I tink the tempo of the movie was nicely raised in the 2nd half....with good humour and action in the last half an hour...haha....remember to book your tic early...

Went to MOF aka Ministry of Food at Marina Square for dinner and it was good....tink this is the few jap restaurant that put in more detail into the food...the salmon sashimi I had ice below it to keep it cold and fresh and some dishes had small cards to describe how to eat the dish the correct way....(see above)....I liked the dessert which had Kanten jelly at the bottom with prune juice and Hokkaido Ice Cream with fruits, Jap Rice Dumpling at the top...Very refreshing dessert...Shld try...

Drove out yest alone because of some unhappy stuff and suddenly felt that though I am in my mid 20s but I have the worries of the mid 40s....Perhaps I have seen too much...25 years of my life, I have seen life, death, debtors chasing debts, suicide or near suicide cases, family breakups..I lived half my life doing business, mixing around with scheming businessmen, begging ppl to buy my items, doing things i dun like to do and doing business in China which is a killer....I worry about my house mortgage loan and sometimes i even worry abt what happens when a fire occurs in my house....

For so many years, I have wanted to say some things to 2 ppl that I can't say, just simply becos it will cause an earthquake. Both are so bad-tempered, one simply worries too much and bothers too much about everything, the other simply spends too much, does not do any planning when doing things and is too rash...And both do not LISTEN.....

However, I do not blame them....it was not their fault that caused them to be like this....$$ is the cause of them all....pin qiong fu qi bai ru ai...this sentence does not come about from nothing....I envy the people who do not have to worry about everything....or those ppl who dun bother about anything...these ppl are the luckiest ppl in the world....

Perhaps it is the environment that I was brought up in caused me to take it easy with regards to alot of things....But that does not mean I do not do anything to solve the problem....But rather than worry about the problem, I rather use the effort and time to solve the problem....

I do not work 19 hour days because I like it....No one likes it....But it's all for a dream and all for the ppl around me...I start to miss the days in hall, when I can do whatever I wan to do...

Just came back from a weekend cruise with my dear and it was great fun on board...haha except that at times the whole liner was shivering....surprisingly that did not happen in the casino... maybe the casino had special shock absorbers....think now the cruises are better than last time...with better facilities and food....here are some photos of my trip....haha guess the photos speak more for themselves.....

Start of working life.....

I think my blog only left a few readers...haha at the pathetic rate i post and with the lack of interesting pictures and food...haha i shall be more hardworking at taking photos of nice food and posting them....

Anyway just some updates....accomplished so much stuff right after exams....finished FYP presentation and got my results...din do well this sem but I guess I did enough to get myself a good honours....(not first class though) so you all shld be able to guess what I got...Completed my 22 days of balance National Service though effectively I only went back for a few days...hehe got paid more then $400 for that...not bad...

Went for a business trip in Beijing which I described in my last post...not much photos though as that is purely a business trip...really not much leisure involved...Came back and moved my stuff back home from hall...haven really sorted it out till now...slowly getting everything into place...

Started work on Monday and I got a new table...haha it's much better than my previous table because it's right in the corner...more privacy and not right in the middle of the office...lol....So far so good at work....my colleagues still remember me and work load is still manageable...but got alot of training coming up...gets really tough to concentrate after lunch....haha

It's a new phase of my life as I finally get to just stay at one place....after 3 years of hall life + 1 year of living overseas....tink it's time to stay put at one place instead of maintaining 2 places and lead a more stable lifestyle...haha but it's also considered a little loss of freedom now that I am home...naturally there is going to be more nagging...but at least I dun have to do my own laundry....lol... and there is home cooked food...enough of hall food...lol.....

Looking forward to the weekend.....maybe can catch Ocean's 13....Pirates was a little disappointing though I tink overall the show is ok....3 hrs of effort....and Captain Jack Sparrow always manage to make me laugh....even doing nothing...he's just comical....But I prefer the 1st 2 versions though....tink shld watch the first 2 episodes again soon....

6 days 3 cities

Currently I am in Beijing on business trip....waiting for my poster supplier to send me my posters....I covered 3 cities within 6 days and it has been really tiring....it's especially hard to do business here with all the heavy dinners and drinking.....on average it's abt 3 bottles of hard liquor and a few bottles of beer PER meal...so if u add it up...2 meals a day for 6 days...that's abt 36 bottles of hard liquor and many bottles of beer in total....tink I am going to eat porridge and soup stuff to detox when I get back to Singapore....

Glad I am returning tonite....lots of things waiting for me to do....moving out of hall, settling business stuff and much more....closed a few deals this trip and it is really an eye opener for me...the opportunities here are so abundant that so many Billionaires have been created here... managed to negotiate supplies for some stuff and hope you guys will support me in the future...

Not much pictures to post for this trip cos it's really pure business...meeting ppl one after another....just the name cards will need alot of sorting out when I get back...and I need a new name card book....

haha my friends always say i am the kind to solve problems....true enough...i do...I solve problems for my parents, for my gf, for my friends, for ppl i dun know, for banks world wide...and I enjoy doing it...i like the sense of satisfaction when I solve the problem and the joy of the ppl when their problems are solved...The essence of problem solving come from focusing on what is the solution rather than y the problem occured...

tink that's y i have grown to like my job more and more now...providing advice to banks in terms of credit risk and asset liability management...initially i still felt that this job was too technical...but after doing it...credit risk is a pretty interesting topic...it shld at least interest me for the next 1-2 years...

Actually in many cases, the problem of people lie in not having enough $...excluding the rich, who really has enough $....honestly to me, am0ngst family, relatives and friends, $ is nothing...if i had to make a choice between $ and any of the above...the choice would definitely not be $...

but no one can deny the fact that sometimes a little $ can make us happier...to buy that pair of shoes u wanted? to buy that car u wan? to buy that house u dream of? or just to buy gf or bf something nice?

So this post is dedicated to ppl who are willing to make abit more $ from their current $...after doing so much research and calculations...i have concluded one can never get rich or enjoy life by just working...do you seriously think u can buy a house, a car, support ur family, pay ur bills and have a large some of $ at the end of the day for ur retirement? simple calculations will tell u it's pretty hard...unless u strike toto or big sweep...

I feel happy that I have helped a few friends realise that with a few simple methods and a little effort will bring u quite a lot of $ 10-20 years from now...and some of them now are even better than me and even more enthu than me...haha my dream is to travel the world...when I am still healthy and able to walk....not to travel when i need to sit in a wheel chair and needs someone to push me around...

I already have the plans to reach this goal....just whether it will succeed....I dun mind sharing it with you...as long as u are willing to spend a little effort (maybe just half an hour a day)....haha it may sound like day dreaming to say that you will hit ur first million within 15 years...but honestly, it's not that hard either...here's the risk for you...if u only believe me 15 years later when i succeed....u already wasted 15 golden years of ur life...

what's the catch? do i earn any $ from advising you...nope...i do not earn a single cent at all...i may even risk being labelled a crazy person...that's y i do not want to be a financial advisor which everyone is asking me to do...i dun tink it's ethical to sell products to my frens which are far more expensive than other sources...my advice to you is purely FOC...no strings attached...my reward comes from seeing other ppl's happpiness....

haha so what makes me qualified to advise you...i dun have CFA, no degree in finance, nv sold any financial products b4...lol....i dun know how to convince you on that...maybe i can tell you i spent 12 hrs a day for the past year...studying the markets and where to get the best deals and rates? haha but i tink the best thing abt my advice is there is no $ involved...what your financial advisors are telling or selling u are not 100% accurate for sure...simply because their rice bowl is involved...do they tell u that u can buy the same product online for half the price??

I tink i am writing this post cos I am bored to death studying for exams....memorising knowledge that I know I wont be using ever again once the paper is over...i dun mind conducting a lecture on investing and financial knowledge now...haha..

Long time nv update my trades cos really too busy....

Exit BBR with abt abt a 20% profit...not bad...but held on for quite long...ZGJL still suspended.. sigh...when will it settle its audit problems...Unit trusts doing quite well....my switching/compounding technique reaping quite good profits and my best performer is Thailand!! haha...i always buy low and sell high...Made around 6-7 % for UOB Gold fund and Lion Cap Malaysia within 2 weeks but shld have held on abit more to hit 10%...too conservative..though other ppl might beg to differ...

Just sold my AIA unit trusts too...16% returns for abt 3 quarters...not too bad...but could have been better if not for the high sales charge the agents charge...it was my first purchase of UT...learnt a lesson on high sales charge...not making the same mistake again...

new investments and profits of about 10% for the 1st quarter of 2007....not bad considering major corrections in Feb...my outlook is more corrections on the way...it's abt time to take profit...but do stay invested but have some spare cash to buy when the market corrects...good time for bonds which are cheap now...

Stopped playing forex for a while cos no time to do much analysis and follow the movements which are super volatile....concentrating firepower on options now...hope everything works out...

A very very very very shitty and FFFFFF up month

I dun usually put such a vulgar title on my blog...But i really cant find any better word to describe the month of March and April 2007....so much irritating, shitty and disappointing stuff has happened in these 2 mths that i am a little resigned to fate...resigning to fate is something so uncharacteristic of me...i usually pursue what i wan with great determination and spirits...actually i am a little lazy to blog everything..but i really wan to vent everything out...

the top rubbish and irritating thing is my FYP....well i handed up my 130 page report...my prof tinks it's is a brilliant piece of work and wants to publish a conference paper on it...a FYP report worth of publishing..shld be not bad rite...few days later...my examiner emailed me to see him...the moment i stepped in...bad comments nv stopped...as if that was the worst paper he ever read...the intro was wrong, the literature review was wrong, the REFERENCE PAGE number was wrong...ya REFERENCE PAGE number....wth....that's not all...wrong use of tense in 2 sentences, u name it, i have the error...

The thing is some of the stuff was not wrong!!! and no matter how i explained ...the examiner who is the director of some research stuff (who thinks he is the best in the whole world) just simply tinks that i did a lousy job...FINE!!!!! welcome to the world of unfair grading...the same report...seen by different prof...2 entirely different comments...i thought they shld have graded it together???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nvm i dun really care not...watever u wan me to edit i will...watever comments u give me i will take it...watever smiles it requires me to make u happy, i will give it to u...u know what....it's because i dun care...i have no feelings in my course, in my project, in my academic relation with u...

AND i seriously tink there is anything to be arrogant abt being director of research at a local school...maybe i will respect u if you are the research director of MIT or Harvard...only when that day arrives, i will salute u .....for now u r just nothing...I dun really expect any good grades now...i am very sure i will not have anythying to do with computer programming in my career.. the degree is just a passport to the interviews...

AND the ironic thing is I want to thank my school for something....it's the chance to go to USA and have such a great time...honestly, although i really struggled over there in terms of academics, it was still the best semester of my university life...the road trips, the back packing trips, the wonderful campus and living environment--->simply fantastic....It's funny to feel that the best time of uni life was not spent in the home uni...lol

Enough abt FYP....a super reckless driver scratched my car today...i was stationary and he just reversed to scratch my car....ok he apologised..but i was still pissed...also not feeling v healthy these few weeks....with headaches, stomachaches and passing fevers....wat is wrong??

And yes I am jealous and very envious of some ppl and irritated by them....they r just plain lucky...a snap of a finger and they get a nice car, a nice overseas trip, etc...but i work my socks off for everything...ya it's true that i have alot of nice stuff like my palm, my xbox 360, my lcd tv etc...but i can proudly say that i really earned them...every cent of them earned from my business, trading, investments and working as a credit risk consultant....I just wish these ppl could be more considerate and please dun build ur happiness at my expense....

I suddenly forgot wat else went wrong...maybe that's a good sign...if you read till here, i wan to thank you for taking time off to listen to my ranting...i shall take back the sentence on resigning to fate...haha...i have a funny thought now...i wan to earn lots of $$$, buy that idiot's lab and let an undergrad be his boss....

on a better note...i really enjoyed the company of my family, my dear, my relatives and all my friends over the past month...life is really abt these ppl...nothing else....

And they still say they doing their duty...And the driver's wife was in the car...they could have told her to move the car away...haiz...

Happy New Year everyone!! It must be a pretty FAT new year for everyone with the economy doing well...job markets doing well and Uncle Lee giving out GST rebates..though I feel that the rebates could have been given out in one shot....cant believe I am getting even less than what I got last time round despite the robust economy...not even enough for me to pay my school fees...sianz...so this year will be a budget deficit for me for CNY..haha..

Congrats to those who bought Thai with me...look at the table above...Finally proved my critics wrong...so many ppl scold me xiao when I told them can buy Thailand...sometimes..no risk no gain...and the best time to buy things are when they r cheap or undervalued...enjoy ur earnings for Thai investors...enjoy the new year...eat more and get more ang pows!!

First few days of work….

Finally started work on Wednesday this week and it has been pretty interesting…The first day was spent mostly on orientation and reading technical documents which is the most boring task so far…My boss is a French who’s only 24???!!!! So young become a supervisor liao…and I hear he’s one of the top students in France…no wonder he climbs up the ladder so fast…but he’s a pretty nice guy…and patient when I ask him questions..

The laptop issued to me has 1.5 GB RAM!!! The first 1.5 GB RAM computer that I ever used and it’s really smooth though the processing speed is not that fast…I guess the reasons the company laptops have to have so much ram is cos their software is sooooo complicated…argh…juz setting up the database alone takes so many steps…faintz…not forgetting have to remember which version of the program to use…

The working hours has been pretty long these few days…din leave the office till like around 7…by the time reach back hall already pretty tired..haha….suddenly forgot I am still a student these few days…but it’s an interesting experience working for the French…they seem to Skype with Paris everyday…a mic and headphone is like the stand issue for everyone (including me) …haha sooner or later..I will have to skype with my clients or colleagues in France…

Had Peach & Banana & Vanilla Ice cream waffle from Cafe Cartel @ Imm with my dear and it's really vvv nice..the waffle was v fresh and soft...right out from the oven...a very huge serving too..more than enough for 2 ppl to share..highly recommended!

If you are a German food fan...you will definitely love this...it's german pig trotters from Blk 85 western stall @ Bedok North hawker centre...the one with the famous bah chor mee...the skin is super crispy and the meat is v tender and smells really good...can eat it without any sauce...the price is abit ex though...$12.5 for a plate...but it's enough to serve 2....so it's still worth it...much cheaper than having it at a German restaurant...

Jasper is an investment holding company which has quite alot of cash on hand and it's been in e market for quite long...I think with its current capital it's stock price is undervalued but the plus point is that the major shareholders are some of the major local banks..so it's quite a good buy..

BBR is a construction company that is riding on the IR construction wave at the moment...previously it has taken part in various government projects like MOE building, MRT track projects etc..so for the next few years..it's fundamentals should be pretty stable and its profit margin should benefit from the IR projects...

Thailand Unit Trust: CLOSE LONG POSITION issued on 12th Jan....

haha...nice play!!....for ppl who wan to take a short profit..can sell now and take a profit of abt 6-10% depending on your entry price...not bad on a 12 day trade...

for long term players...can still wait...if thailand crash..buy more to even out prices...but nice day to take profits....Aberdeen Thai managed to become one of the top 5 for best performing weekly UT ...here's the screenshot...

This pick actually late for a few days...this fund was launched on Monday 15th Jan and the plan is to buy it when it is juz launched...It's the first fund that invests in Vietnam and it comes at a good time when Vietnam just entered the ASEAN FTA...I forgot the exact news...but it's good news..haha...

On the downside there are 2 risk factors....

1. all time high on the Vietnam stock index...thanks to Anthony for the chart...Yes it's a risk because it's nv good to buy anything that is at it's peak...but if u look at Dow Jones, STI and any asian index...basically everything is at its all time high...My personal view is that a correction may be on the cards..but if ur investment window is abt 1-2 years...any correction is juz noise and serves as a good entry point for further investments....

2. Bird Flu - Well, the bird flu problem has been present in Vietnam for quite a few years already and no one will know whether it will get worse or improve...If it gets worse, Vietnam's economy will be hit...but this definitely will not be the determining factor for the Vietnamese economy...

On the upside...Vietnam is quoted as the next China...because of it's under developed nature as well as its under valued economy...it's one of the best emerging markets in the world...and with Asian growth forecasted above global growth for 2007....I think it's a good buy...

Just 4 days..and it's this fund has become the highest volume traded fund on Fundsupermart... pretty hot...haha...on a lighter note...you can think this way..."if die...I wont be the only one, lol", so juz put a little into this fund and my prediction is an average of at least 15-20% returns per annum for this fund...

Strategy: Buy and dun care for 1-2 years...May take profit in June if earnings >20%

Tink I sent out too many job applications....basically every week I have one or 2 interviews...luckily these are all jobs that I am interested in...or else I wont take the effort to dress up and go down all the way from NTU also...had an offer but the timing does not really fit..will have to see how it works out...

Hope better jobs come my way...haha...luckily my timetable this sem is pretty slack for CE standards...juz 10 AU s....and out of 3 papers, 2 are open book....and no labs except for my dear FYP....talking abt it...FYP is really irritating and I hope to get it out of my mind by mid Feb...*hopefully*....will feel so relieved after March when I hand up my final report...

Anyway the condition in school is getting from bad to worse..we r suffering from serious over crowding and lack of basic resources....shuttle buses take soooo long....the library computers r all occupied and u have to wait years for an empty photocopier...Water coolers r spoilt, seats in lecture theatres are damaged...student rooms are treated as storage areas and CRT monitors are discarded everywhere...I cant take it any longer...I have taken photos of all these and decided to send feedback to SAO or whoever...School fees are increasing and yet student satisfaction decreases...

The irony is that our school has the money to build fantastic new buildings, put BIG LCD tvs in areas where no one walks past and buys chairs that costs few hundred dollars each...and yet..the most basic facilities to students like water coolers, printers, photocopiers and good Lecture theatre seats are not up to standard....it's juz like a apple with a nice appearance but is rotten inside...wait for the pics to see how bad the situation is...

12 Jan Pick - BUY on Thailand Unit Trust

Restrictions on foreign investments, bomb attacks, military government etc...So why BUY now when everyone is exiting?? Well, the best profits are made when funds or equities are bought at under-valued pricing...true enough..investing in Singapore funds or Money Markets may be stable but the profits won't be as high as taking a slight risk...

Think abt it this way...for every seller, there must be a buyer..with ppl throwing out Thai unit trusts or stocks, there must be ppl buying them right? Who buys them? My guess will be ppl who go against the flow like me or big financial institutions who are buying at good value...

Look at the graph for Lion Capital and Aberdeen Thailand....both have fallen to the level last June or July and that was the time when ALL unit trusts had a big fall....so now is a good entry point...here's the strategy...

For every $1000 invested,

BUY $500 now....Then BUY $100 more for every 5% fall...until total invested amt hits $1000
Investment time window: 1 Year Expected Returns: Overall 10%

NEW YORK — Contrarians rejoice. Groupthink is back on Wall Street. Ten out of 10 stock market gurus interviewed by USA TODAY say stocks will post gains for a fifth-consecutive year in 2007. The expected gains range from 15% to 1%, and average out to 8.1%.

There wasn't a single bear. No real pessimists. No one calling for a loss. Not a single prognosticator warning of an impending slump. If bulls are right, investors who follow the herd will be rewarded. But from a contrarian standpoint, that glass-is-half-full optimism could spell trouble. As the Grateful Dead pointed out in its popular song, Uncle John's Band, "When life looks like Easy Street, there is danger at your door."

One person who sees potential danger due to the dearth of bearishness is the stock strategist with the least optimistic '07 forecast: JPMorgan Chase's Abhijit Chakrabortti.
"It does worry us," Chakrabortti says. "Everyone thinks the economy will be fine. Everyone thinks earnings will slow but still grow at a decent clip. Everyone thinks the Federal Reserve will either cut interest rates or hold rates steady. Nobody thinks the dollar will collapse or oil will spike again. That, to me, sounds dangerous."

It's not just Wall Street that's feeling confident after a surprisingly good year in which the Dow Jones industrial average blasted to 22 all-time highs since early October. Individual investors are also feeling optimistic."Investor optimism remains buoyant as 2006 comes to a close," reads the press release touting the December UBS/Gallup Index of Investor Optimism.

Nearly two of three investors say, "Now is a good time to invest," up from 57% in November, the poll found. And the CBOE volatility index, or VIX, a "fear index," is sitting near historic lows, a "sign of complacency," Ned Davis Research says.

But given that seven of the 10 forecasts call for ho-hum single-digit gains, Bernie Schaeffer, an expert on market sentiment and president of Schaeffer's Investment Research, has a different contrarian take: "This cautiousness is of even greater importance, given the flat-out bull market we've experienced in the second half of 2006. So a runaway bull market would be a major contrarian surprise."

An important week coming up...with many results to be announced...the new year coming up and my final semester in NTU approaching..2006 simply flashed past...and lets look back on what I have done/achieved in 2006

1. Came back from 2 exchange programs...to become the first to finish the GIP triangle...sometimes I think back on the times when I was living in the US and China and everything seems to be like a dream...experiencing so much things in such a short time...living in these 2 countries has really been a milestone in my life.

2. Investments - 2006 is the first year that I started out in investing....stocks, unit trusts, forex, insurance etc....from a total idiot in investing to knowing how the market works, how to shop for the lowest charges and how to be a cool and calm investor..profits for the year stands at abt 10%..not bad for a first year...

3. FYP......topic is on stocks prediction...still on going and really gained lots of knowledge on the stock market and technical analysis by doing the project...progress is slow...lets hope I can finish it on time and get a decent grade...

4. Countries travelled in 2006...Hong Kong, Thailand....Both trips with my dear and they have been wonderful trips...particularly memorable was staying at the disney hotel in HK...really nice theme hotel where everything is Mickey shaped...haha...

5. Academic results....not a bad year in terms of academic results...but of course this could change in a few hrs time when the results for this sem will be released....

6. Family.....spent more time with my family in 2006 than in 2005...haha of cse...because I am back...finally will be moving back home in 2007 and there will be more time for my family...

7. Friends....Everyone seems really bz this year....but still had regular meetups for westlife, GLs, Hejia and Johnny and the drinking gang (Adrian/Guoxing/Hanxin)....Guess it's harder to meet up when some of my frenz have graduated and so bz with their work...well I am also guilty in abit lazy to organise outings..hehe...

8. My dear...2006 continues to be a colourful year for us....with 2 trips overseas and nice birthday celebrations...lots of nice memories....sorry for some small bickerings but guess that's normal with couples..hehe...2007 promises to be a better year!

9. Myself...think my living habits r not v good in 2006...continuing to have late nites...though better than in year 1 and 2 when I really slpt in the morning...on the lectures attendance front, tink 2006 is the year when I attended the most lectures...all thanks to motivation from my dear of cse..haha...lets hope I can keep it up for next sem...Think I ate too much in 2006...gained some weight...my mum keeps saying I am too fat every weekend when I get home...ok shall shed some pounds in 2007....

10. Almost forgot..hehe..got myself an x box and a new palmtop this year...=)

Think that's abt all for 2006...if I can remember den will update again....Now for 2007...what are my wishes n resolutions???

1. Do well for FYP/final sem and get a good honours.....
2. Go for a nice nice grad trip...I love travelling and I hope I can go for a nice grad trip b4 I start work....

Where sign language is far from foreign...

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 22 — Waiters take orders using American Sign Language. Doctors’ offices are equipped with videophones that flash rather than ring. The latest movies are shown with captions.

Tucked in the western part of New York, Rochester is home to the nation’s largest deaf population per capita, with about 90,000 people who are deaf or hard of hearing living among the metropolitan area’s 700,000 residents. The city’s transformation began in 1968 with the opening of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf.

The community’s embracing of all things deaf has provided comfort to a city where many industries and young people have fled for more prosperous parts in recent years.

“What’s happening in Rochester today will influence the rest of the country years from now,” said Thomas Holcomb, a professor of deaf studies from Ohlone College in Fremont, Calif. “It’s on the frontier.”

It is here that the world of the deaf intersects the world of the hearing as in no other city.

“People outside Rochester know us for that,” said Maggie Brooks, the executive of Monroe County. “We’re proving ourselves as a leader.”

This was not always the case. When the institute was established here with the notion of offering the most mainstream environment possible, open not only to signers but to nonsigners alike, controversy swirled like snow in February off Lake Ontario.

“People were honestly scared,” Professor Holcomb, who is deaf, said through an interpreter. With signing at the root of the deaf culture, “they thought it would destroy everything we cherished, and the future of American Sign Language was in doubt,” he said.

Despite that initial concern, the student population here has grown from a few dozen in its first year to hundreds. What’s more, many have settled in the community. And that has attracted other deaf people with no connection to the college.

Francis Kimmes, who moved here in 1972, was born deaf to parents who were not, and for years struggled with a sense of isolation.

Mr. Kimmes, 60, knew only three other deaf people in his hometown, Niagara Falls, so he communicated with the world through a frustrating mix of lip reading and gesturing. But in Rochester he found he could make friends and lead an active life using his first real language, American Sign. He joined a Catholic church for the deaf, found work on the assembly line at Eastman Kodak, married, and raised two sons.

“I felt more free,” Mr. Kimmes said through an interpreter. “It hit me. It was powerful. I realized, there was no real life back there, where I was.”

As the deaf population has grown, the city has changed. T. Alan Hurwitz, dean of the institute, said he has noticed that in the last few years, the city has created more opportunities for deaf people to be part of the community.

“It’s everywhere you go,” Dr. Hurwitz said through an interpreter.

Three movie theaters show newly released films with captions. Nearly all of the high schools offer sign-language classes. The Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester employs a deaf docent.

That can have a deep effect on newcomers.

“When I came to Rochester, people would attempt to sign; it was so neat,” said Lizzie Sorkin, 25, a senior at the college, and the first deaf student president of the entire Rochester Institute of Technology campus, which includes 15,000 hearing students and 1,200 deaf students at the institute. “I feel like I’m not deaf. I’m a person.”

In the last few years, there has also been an influx of deaf doctors, a rare comfort to patients who do not want to discuss their health in front of an interpreter. Dozens of other professionals, including real estate and insurance agents and bank officers — all of them either deaf or fluent in sign language — are part of the community.

“When I first moved here, I was shocked to see so many deaf people,” Alexandra Ling, 23, who came from the Boston area to attend the institute here, wrote in an e-mail message. “I decided to stay here because I felt really comfortable. People at stores and restaurants understand deafness, so there’s a lot less communication barriers even though they are hearing.”

When Spencer Phillips moved to this city three years ago, it was the end of a long and often difficult journey that had begun in a slippery backyard waterslide. Mr. Phillips was 7 when he fell and struck his head, and that night he lost most of his ability to hear.

As he grew up in Los Angeles, he knew he was different, though he did not consider himself deaf. That changed when at age 19, Mr. Phillips, a Mormon, chose to live among deaf adults and learn sign language for a two-year-ministry project.

“I realized it was part of who I was, too,” he said recently.

He was 27 and finishing law school in Utah when he read a magazine article about a deaf doctor who had opened a practice in Rochester. “I thought, that is so cool,” he said. “Why not go to where she is?”

Mr. Phillips won a two-year legal fellowship to help the underserved deaf community, and never left.

As for the deaf community’s fears that a mainstream college would spell the death of American Sign Language, Dr. Holcomb said those concerns have melted away. Indeed, the number of interpreters, professionals and services has sharply risen. “I can see that spreading across the country,” he said. “It’s a great model.”

Parker Zack, a real estate agent, has observed more people in Rochester trying to sign, even finger spell, than in other cities where he has lived. Mr. Zack, 50, who can hear, became obsessed with sign language after watching his deaf aunt and uncle converse growing up.

“The way they would communicate with each other was so beautiful,” he said. “It was like artwork.”

As a student at the University of Rochester, Mr. Zack became friendly with several deaf people, who suggested that he pursue his master’s degree at Gallaudet University for the deaf in Washington. He did, and after receiving his master’s in psychology, he joined the faculty there, becoming a director of student life.

But a request by a friend who was a real estate agent to interpret for her deaf clients changed his career. The agent made missteps, he said. “Deaf people don’t care how quiet the house is,” he said. When the couple was ready to buy, they showed up on his doorstep. “They didn’t go to their agent,” he said. “They came to me.”

With that, Mr. Zack became a real estate agent who specialized in serving the deaf. After working in Virginia, he returned to Rochester, where about 70 percent of his clients are deaf, he said. “I find it a lot better use of my counseling degree than sitting in a cubicle somewhere typing memos,” he said.

And he has never lacked for clients.

“There are always deaf people moving here,” he said.

Sorry to all my readers out there for not posting for so long...haha if there are any readers in the first place...it's really been busy Nov/Dec...Exams are passable...*I hope* and so far..December has been a month of fun, excitement and so many things to look forward to...except FYP..sigh...made some progress last week...but still need to work harder to get better results...

It's been a v fun December...just had a fun filled weekend...Friday was drinking session with Adrian, Hanxin, Guoxing...we finished 3 bottles of red wine...hahah...celebrated my dear's bday for her on Sat and then had Westlife outing yesterday...it's been quite some time since we watched soccer together den play so many matches of W11 on PS....a few days of fun makes me feel recharged and ready for more work this coming week...

This week is going to be both exciting and fun...Thursday will be an impt day...Friday I will get out of Singapore for a short trip...After that will be sch reopening..sigh...haha last sem liao..hopefully...dunno when results will be out...hope can do well cos last year liao..weightage higher...*cross fingers*

This is a horrible week with 1 presentation, 1 quiz, 1 assignment due on Thur alone and another lab report due on Friday...almost all done but den still have to touch them up...Just hope thurs will b over soon...

Watched World Trade Center on Sunday with my dear and it's a touching movie...esp the part when nicolas cage and his partner were saved...it's a movie that gives ppl hope and makes you feel that anything can be overcomed by the strength of the mind...Some parts of the movie were typical American hero movies..but overall it's a good movie...

haha my blog has turned from daily updates to weekly updates and now monthly updates...dun know y i am losing interest in blogging or juz lazy to update on my life...well September has flew past with the term break over sooner than I realised it...October is here and it simply means time to hand up labs, projects and then handle the exams (as usual) ... what's new? haha...

This sem does not seem to be as smooth as last sem...my lecturers cant seem to convey their teachings to me...and ya I am guilty of ponning more lessons this sem...but still not as bad as year 1 and 2...I only skip really useless lessons nowadays...but really dun have much motivation to attend lessons lately...Now I just hope I clear everything this semester...This is the first time that I cant understand my notes even though I have read it in detail...haiz...

Ok enough talking abt work...haha...went to Chinese gardens with my dear yesterday for mid-autumn celebrations...Everything was great except for the air...the moon looks polluted...but the display at the Chinese Gardens were quite nice esp e Effiel Tower and Leaning Tower of Pisa...The mai ya tang performer was amazing..he could make artistic creations juz using sugar syrup and a spoon like equpiment...Shall post the photo up when I find my card reader...argh it's missing...tink need to get a new one liao...Overall a nice outing wif my dear...last year din get to spend zhong qiu wif her cos I was in Beijing...finally this year can liao..

Talking abt Effiel Tower and Leaning Tower makes me want to go travelling...another fierce sem of modules & FYP and I just wan to take a few days off everything in Dec...and hopefully go for a nice grad trip in June next year...

haha juz took a look at the time and it's 410 liao...my hair dry liao...can slp le...juz realised it's exactly one mth away from a special day...sadly the special day falls juz a week b4 exams...=(

since i blogged here...bz wif the exhibition, fyp etc..first and foremost i muz thank everyone who supported me in the exhibition in one way or another...ok that's a old line but i tink that's most appropriate...special thanks to my dear for all the support from before e exhibition right up to after the exhibition...also muz thank hanxin for lending his car to me and the whole westlife for the help for the opening ceremony...ya and i noe they r going to burn a big hole in my pocket...

Now i know y they say tai shang 3 min..tai xia 10 years of work...took so long to prepare for the exhibition and the 2 days juz flew by...juz glad that everything went well...

Watched the devil wears prada and it really tells us not neglect the basics of life - family, frenz, doing things u really like etc juz because of materialistic stuff...Afterall $ is not everything...

Thank god it's friday...but den today seems like such a bz day..woke up in the morning and had to rush to paragon for an appt...den came home and my hse is in such a big mess..the renovation has not ended...and i got to change room..give up my private toilet for a lcd tv...haha but i tink that's a pretty good deal....

but today i feel sad cos of what happened to a fren...and i feel weird cos of some words..and i feel happy becos of some other words...i feel abit sad too...i feel abit jealous too though i know i shld not...all kinds of feelings rushing thru me now...i dun like this...

maybe next week will be a good time to open my vodka peach in hall..

Finally I am healthy again...after being sick for almost 2 weeks...lots of events coming up for me and feeling abit stressed...My exhibition is approaching and now making the final preparations for it...Dr Yeo Seem Huat will be my Guest Of Honour for the opening ceremony at 230pm on 9th Sept..so everyone go down at that time to support me k..haha

Hope everything goes well for the exhibition...and of cse hope can make a profit out of it although the main objective this time is not profit making...haha but who minds abit of profit...

It will be a busy 2 mths ahead with the exhibition, FYP FYP FYP FYP FYP and renovation to my hse...yay...my room is going to become bigger after the renovation and I am going to have a new air con...haha shall get a big big study table and a nice nice chair after everything is done...

Watched 2 movies lately with my dear and I find them pretty meaningful....First the Break Up...v funny movie showing a couple trying all ways to spite each other...though both of them wan to break up on the surface...they really love each other and hope to make up deep down in their hearts...in the end they went their separate ways...though the producer din show what happened in the end, I predict that they will get tog judging from the body language of the couple when they met up again..haha jennifer anniston's wink wink is a big clue...lol....well the movie really tells us to cherish what we have and dun lose them just because of small fights or quarrels...

The second movie is Click....haha....Adam Sandler is really good....he can really make his audience laugh...the idea of the movie is pretty creative too....he could fast forward his life with a click, skipping the unhappy times and finish his work in a split second etc...in the end he fast forward his life so much that he missed out on most of his life...including happy times...It really shows that sometimes we work and work, rush and rush etc....but missed out the most impt parts of our life: our family, friends, loved ones ....haha a v nice and meaningful comedy...5 stars!! *i still dun understand y the dogs like the duck so much*

Sick on a mountain...

What do you do when you are sick on top of a mountain? haha this is like the worst possible senario...everything and everyone seems so far away...

That's my life for the past few days...been down with the flu..sneezing and coughing non stop although already on medication...really felt too tired to get out of bed this morning to attend the 930 am lessons..in the end skipped the 1 hr lect to buy 4 hrs of slp...quite worth it...first lect skipped this sem...but not without a reason...

Food seems so far away without a canteen in my hall and the thought of lunching alone in the super crowded cant A puts me off...haiz...hall 2 seems so convenient now with the supermarket and canteen right below me...In the end the solution was bread...=(

Adding to my sorrows..lessons this semester are so long..from morning right up to 730pm..and the lecturers always make full use of the lectures..not giving us a single min of early release...that's year 4 for u...Although this sem BJ is back..but most of the stuff is still individual work and I am not taking every module with him...so I am very much on my own for 3 modules...

Actually I am panting now from climbing up the stairs...so much that I decided to blog first b4 eating my dinner...yes..it's 8 and I just got back hall from lessons....argh....and it's plain rice with vegetables again..most of the stuff left in cant A are fried stuff...Super low morale...sick in hall with lousy food...

Anyway...thanks to hanxin for giving me a lift to school today...else I have to wait for shuttle bus in the super hot weather...

Things just din go right today...most probably cos I am sick...so everything screws up... even stapled my notes upside down *faintz*.....and with the amt of work piling up, I just can see any sign of it getting better...

I will probably be restricted to my bed for the whole of tonite...studying and watching tv from it...

sometimes, somethings just seem so near but yet so far....

Well the title says it all...3rd day of school and sick liao...guess must be the effect of all the heaty food and late nites I have been having...actually compared to the times i slp when I was in year one and two...nowadays I slp really early..averaging slping time of abt 12...but still like not enough slp..haha too pig liao...

Spend NDP doin FYP in hall and only one word to describe it...TOUGH!!...haiz..dun understand the code at all although i read it again and again...*faintz*...hope to get some inspiration somewhere...

Haiz..my sore throat is getting from bad to worse...could not get to slp cos it was too painful and woke up at 7am this morning...what an unearthly time to wake up for me...

On a brighter note..the fireworks festival at Marina Bay was great...had a great nite out with my dear watching fireworks and trying the new restaurant New York New York at City Link....The crunchy mushroom is pretty unique and the ribs and chicken is good too...nice place to hang out...

Just bought txtbooks today and this means more stuff to read and more work to do...hope I recover fast or else nothing will get done liao...

yay...checked my bank account and found a nice increase in it...finally my pay for the swimming pool job has arrived!! haha slightly more than $500 bucks for a 8 days job...not bad...got a slight bonus from ENS...but it's been fun and meeting new friends on the job...

Finally bought my palm TX from Funan last Sunday and set my home wireless yesterday..now I can surf on my bed!! haha...ok you guys are going to say I am lazy again...but who cares...lol...can even surf at Macdonalds and watch movie on the go...and download alot of useful information like parking rates, maps, news etc into my palm..it's a luxurious gadget but I think I deserve it after working so hard to work out my investments, business etc...although now still in a deficit..but den it's long term...haha the palm burnt a hole in my pocket..hope to get some posters selling to patch the hole up..haha

1 and a half weeks to start of school again...haha this time I am looking forward to it..tink the hols is too long liao..dun like to nua too long....when school starts...I will be looking forward to the hols again..haha

Why must there be a blemish on a nice few days? The day before yesterday, I was so happy when I saw the cup cakes my dear sent me....Yesterday went ktv with the Gls and then went to Wala Wala at Holland V for a drink with another 8 HI ppl...it was fun drinking and listening to a live band and it was a great nite out...den when i came home..i found something amiss...it was just weird...I started getting abit pissed but decided not to blow up until I found out what the whole thing was abt...

I tink I am just good at predicting things...but the things only include bad things...y cant I be better at predicting what will come out in the exam or what numbers will come out in the next 4 D or toto...Everything is pretty much what i expected...

I don't mind people touching or looking at my things...but please respect my privacy...AND DO NOT DO THINGS THAT ARE IRREVERSIBLE to them...you wan to see or whatever is ok...but if you want to do anythin to them, can you at least ask for my permission?

It's definitely not intentional but it's really very irritating and spoils my whole nite, day, weekend...some things are non intentional but can you at least tink in the person's shoes when u say or do something?

And you know what, I cant talk to anyone abt this because it is jia shi...and this is a shitty feeling...

The temperature of my blood has been slowly rising since yesterday nite...and it's boiling now...

I am just waiting for my car to come back and I think I will go for a spin and catch some fresh air...

When I reached home...I saw a big box on the dining table...it's for me!! haha i was wondering it's not my bday yet...so why got cake?...to my pleasant surprise..it's a box of cupcakes my dear ordered for me...so nice of her to order the cupcakes for me though she's in Hong Kong...hee going to eat some of the cup cakes later...hehe...thanks a milllion to my dear...here's the pics of the cupcakes...

Haven been blogging lately...been working almost everyday at the pool...and not much mood to blog after a day of work...juz feel like nuaing...the work is actually not that tough..juz that need to wake up early and being the pig i am...haha i just need more slp...

Met up wif quite alot of frenz these 2 weeks, hejia, johnny, adrian, guoxing etc...it's funny how our topics are so common although it's in different meetings...insurance, unit trust, buyin hse, stocks, how to earn $, grades, career and relationships...well i guess the golden rule does not change...nan ren bu shi wei le qian jiu shi wei le nu ren...

Hejia said something that I had tong gan wif...haha tink my gang of frenz really now old liao...losing interest in things like msn, watching drama etc...most of us are more concerned abt settling down and starting to save up for the future...guess that's the natural process when it comes to work...my attention span for watching tv or drama is really decreasing...last time can just watch whole day...now watch 1 or 2 episodes start to get bored already...

Simple wishes...that's the title of the post..but nothing mentioned abt it yet...like wat nicolas said to me on msn...simple wishes sometimes may be the most difficult wishes to fulfill...wow...he understands me so well..lol...i totally agree...sometimes the more simple it is...the harder it gets...lol...made my bday wish long long long ago and i blogged abt it...it's a simple one..and it still stands...it's really sooooo simple....you only need 1 second to fulfill it...or less...haha...no equipment needed....it's something that only lasts for a split second but means so much...

Maybe it will never happen, maybe it will happen tmr...that's the beauty of it...it's the unexpectedness of it that makes it special...haha...

The week has been full of ups and downs...but at least it ended well...y do I always screw up...my wish for the week is for "a touch of home" to come back...

My dear is coming back in 2 weeks time...looking forward to it...

Finally there is no work today after 4 consecutive days at the swimming pool...It's pretty good $ considering we only work like the most 6 hours a day...and we get $60 for each day..

Nothing to do today so feeling super bored now...actually there is work to be done...fyp, posters and clearing up my room which is getting messy again...but just no motivation to do so...just checked the net for some stuff and feel disappointed again...which adds to my no motivation status...

At times i tink i contradict myself...At work, i wish for the weekend to come so that I can rest...when the weekend comes, i wish i had something to do...not that I wan to work...just something more happening...haha but at least work gives me $ to spend...

Tink i shld do clear up my room and do some fyp today...haha what a way to spend a Saturday... doing FYP...haiz...maybe come back blog more when i feel even more bored later...

Ice cream at Yuki Yaki!! highly recommended..the steamboat and bbq and ice cream v good!! the ice cream is DIY one...haha..first timers will be surprised how they set up the ice cream stuff... This one is champagne flavoured...

Went for westlife dinner on Saturday at Hougang coffeeshop...thanks hanmao for the treat...watched the portugal match at the coffeeshop after that and it was an exceptionally exciting match for mr tay kun hui...haha if that last goal was not disallowed in the 90++ min, he would have won $$...but that's soccer for you...you never know what's goin to happen until the final whistle...

I am so proud to say that I haven been snacking while watching WC since last Fri....haven been eating much too...haha...guess that will help in reducing my tummy which is getting big...staying at home is so conducive for getting fat...the bed, the tv, watching dvds etc...maybe later shall go for a run...if weather permits...rained v heavily in the wee hours of the morning....

woke up at 9am today...that is really such an unearthly hour for me...woke up to find that my professor emailed me to ask me to meet him tmr...haiz...means that i have to travel all the way to school just to meet him for 10 min...*faintz* 3 hrs of transport for 10 min of talking...really wan to ask him can we just the webcam or the phone?...but at least my dear called back in the morning which brightened up my day...

din watch the 3am match yest cos my eyes were really tired from the vigorous activity these few days...they have been seriously overworked for the past few days...yesterday was really a boring day spent at home...alone..haha how i wish a few robbers can come entertain me den maybe i can set some traps and catch them...den the police will reward me with some $$ den i will appear on tv...lol...ok that's rubbish thoughts again...

today is just like photocopy of yesterday...reading up on fyp, watch dvd, read newspaper etc...my dear went hk early fri morning...if i say i dun miss her i would be lying...for the moment shall just look forward to 29th june...time just seems to pass so slow...even watching a match for 90 mins seems watching it for 9 days...

haha if you read men are from mars and women are from venus...you shld know what the cave means...dunno y but these few days juz feel like hiding in my cave...seldom online and in anti social mode on msn...maybe it's cos of the world cup...but msn is really getting boring nowadays...so many of my frenz who i chat so well dunno disappear to where liao...guess everyone is bz with their own lives liao...

Now blasting music in my room after lunch and clearing some paperwork and poster stuff...waiting for $$ to arrive from Europe...faster come..haha..den got $ to spend liao...and as i am hiding in my cave and blogging suddenly so much memories flash pass me...good, bad, fun, sad, exciting, scary....everything....and maybe you may tink i am crazy...i am laughing when i tink of the good ones and feel sad when i tink of the sad ones....I am just one such person...who stores so much memories in my brain...and reviewing them when i feel like it...haha wonder when my brain will run out of hard disk space....

Today sneezed more than 10 times when i woke up....dunno whether is falling sick...my dear is right..late nites, eating rubbish food, no exercise means that I am falling sick soon...haha not forgetting the 3 durians i bought from geylang on Monday...haha shall eat less heaty food for the coming mth...

Just a round up of where i went to the past week...Started watching World cup since last fri nite, Saturday went shopping with my dear, sunday nua..Monday go Bird park and Geylang buy durians, Tuesday went shopping with my dear again and den went ktv with her..haha super fun..so long nv go ktv with her liao...today nua again...Quite an enjoyable few days...

World Cup Fever Starts Early....

World cup only starts tonite but yesterday nite the world cup fever has already gotten to a baby called Xiaoxin...haha...spent 3 hrs yest nite at NUH with her and can really see she was in great discomfort...glad to see her back to her old self running ard and playing with her chairs at the end of the whole thing...haha..and it's really hard to get babies to pee when u need them to...it's pretty hard to explain here...u will have to see it for urself to understand...

Went to Ark Cafe with my dear yesterday nite and it's a great place...Good music, food and ambience...And i also learnt that chips can be heated up with candles...lol....taste quite good too...the singers on stage got "tekaned" by us becos we dedicated songs like shan hu hai and kao jin which were difficult tunes to sing...but they did well and it was really a great nite of laughter and entertainment there...

Tonite is the start of the "widow month" haha...aka World Cup 2006 @ Germany...I am all prepared for it with potato chips, soft drinks, pocky and lcd tv which i moved back from hall...pretty excited by it...it's something the world looks forward to every 4 years...here's some funny facts i read abt regarding the world cup...

IT Show & Results...

Went to the IT Show for sat and sunday and practically spent an average of 6-7 hours there a day...The deals there were pretty good but I still waited for the last min to wait for the prices to drop...haha...so the first day was recce...2nd day execution...here's what I bought for me and my parents and my dear for the last 2 days...

1. 4x 1GB SD card (really good deal!)
2. 1x 32" Samsung LCD tv...(for my parents, a pity it wont be placed in my room, else can watch world cup with it)
3. 1x 512 MB Micro SD card
4. 2x HP Ink cartridge

wanted to buy a palm and waited till the last half an hour for the best deal...but in the end din buy cos of a super bad sales man...I already negotiated the price to $449 and I wanted more freebies...1 sales girl and 1 sales man was serving me...I offered them $449 +1GB Sd card...but the girl said she needed to ask her boss..

den the young guy said"...wallow...how can offer $449 +1GD Sd card" in a v bad attitude...as if is scolding me..

den he followed on with :"1GD sd card not cheap leh.."

I got abit pissed and replied: "1GD SD card v cheap la...the IT sales selling v cheaply"

sales man:"so cheap den den go buy urself la!"

km:"if you can sell me with my conditions den sell me, if you cant meet it..den dun sell la...not as if i am forcing u to sell"

den i stormed off...So much for a service oriented industry and country...I mean the golden rule for doing business..no matter wat, you shld not criticise your customer in his or her face...if you wan to scold the customer..do it behind his back....and it's a bargaining thing, if you can make the deal with me, make it, or bargain back with me...it's not as if i am begging u to sell me the palm..duh..with this kind of attitide i wont buy it no matter how much u offer me...shopping is not only abt the product but also abt the happiness of buyin the thing..if buy until so unhappy i rather dun buy...and the price will surely drop...i was really pissed by his attitude..it's the last 5 min ..he shld be the one begging me to buy...and not pissing me off...too bad...no commission for him...

Results are out...did ok this sem...the only bad thing is I got C+ for 432...it's a year 4 subject..so weightage is higher...but the others were fine...haha ask me personally if you wan to know the rest of the grades...shld be on the way for a 2nd lower or 3rd class honours provided nothing goes wrong for fyp and final year subjects...

Must start planning my timetable liao..I tink my timetable for next sem will b vvvvv bad..considering i dun have hall...muz wake up at 6am? *faintz*

Random thoughts...cant get to slp...

Actually this post is at 225am in the morning…after the phone conversation with my dear just now, I went to slp…but den somehow just cant get to slp…maybe is my suay mouth juz now when I mentioned I cant get to slp…I am tired..but somehow I cant slp..i wonder y…

And in the darkness somehow I had some thoughts going through my mind…so decided to wake up and blog this…but den somehow blogspot is down…so I wrote this in word and then posted it in the morning…

These few days have really been about earning $$….selling things on ebay…buying and selling posters…teaching tuition…researching on some investment stuff etc…haha cos need $ for so many things…for trips, for things I wan to buy and to increase my savings etc…it’s been a mad rush to do all these things and it’s really nice to rest at nite to just chat with my gf…in fact although we have been tog for almost a year now…Chatting with her is still something I look v forward to…

Now in the tranquility of the nite, suddenly have some thoughts…Sometimes the mad rush to work, earn $ etc is just like a poison to the mind…true enough, this keeps us occupied and gives us goals and rewards but at times it makes us forget what really makes us happy…And sometimes lets us forget the ppl around us…I have seen so many examples of how $ can tear a family apart, making brothers fight, and abandoning parents etc…haha I suddenly remembered what one of my uncles always say to me…$ is earned to be spent…some ppl always earn $ and keep it until their death…in the end the bank pass book has 7 digits but they nv use it at all…haha…as they always say…shen bu dai lai si bu dai qu…saving is a virtue but I always believe in money that can buy happiness is well spent…that is because happiness does not always have a price…

Haha but pls dun withdraw all your $ out and spend it all on the GSS and say kaimin said on his blog that you should spend all your $$…that’s not wat I meant…savings and spending should be balanced and $ shld be spent in such a way so that it makes u or your loved ones happy..personally, spending the $ on my loved ones is much much much more enjoyable than spending it on myself..i wonder y..if given a certain amt of $ and I can only either buy something for my loved ones or myself…my choice would definitely be my loved ones without even thinking…

Finally bought myself a new hp yesterday and I like it v much…my old hp cmi liao..keep turning off by itself…I pondered at the hp shop for super long on whether to buy the hp… finally decided to reward myself for my efforts in the poster business…though I still have many things that I want to buy…but shall shelf them all until next semester at least…saving up for something else now…hehe…*to myself: only window shopping at tmr’s IT show*

Also finally got the job as a turn inspector at the national swimming competitions…really wanted to find some part time jobs that was not on a regular basis since exams ended but could not find…thought initially could work at the IT show but in the end it was a disappointment…was looking forward to working there and looking at the exhibition for 4 days and even avoid the crowd…but ren suan bu ru tian suan...but nvm finally can earn some extra cash at the swimming competition…the pay is not bad too…

Haha my thoughts are really random when I cant slp…and this is really a random post…another thought: I had another funny thought when I was lying on the bed just now..or rather flipping..as an only child..i tink many ppl will tink I am spoiled by my parents and given all the attention in the world by them and I muz be super xing fu that I dun have any siblings to compete with…

Actually that’s not really true…honestly, it’s not really that fun or xing fu to be an only child…In good times, you get spoiled by your parents or you dun need to share things with siblings or you dun need to quarrel with siblings or you get what you want…that’s what ppl always see only…but ppl tend to forget the bad times…what happens to the only child when the parents quarrel? Or when the family is not in such a good state? Did ppl even give a thought that the child has to take all this S**T himself or herself? He or she does not even have someone to talk to when his parents are at war…And there are some things I am sure children do not share with their parents…so where does an only child store these thoughts? 2 possibilities: Friends or they simply keep it to themselves..And some of these thoughts are personal, or only understood by closed ones..so in the end it will end up in their stomach…den in the end maybe end up as German gas…oops…If I had a choice..i would really want a brother or a sister...i am so envious of ppl who have siblings since I was young..but too bad for me..i nv had this chance…

I tink being an only child I developed some bad habits also…Tink my gf will know I actually can remember what ppl said in the exact words even quite some time ago…I can remember who said what at what event v clearly…actually I nv purposely went to memorise what ppl say…it jus comes natural to me…my only explanation for this is that when I interact wif ppl, I pay so much attention n focus to them…and the reason for this is that I only have my 4 walls to focus on when I am at home…

But I must admit I am v fortunate…I have great parents who I can talk well with but of cse there are a lot of stuff I still keep to myself..the main reason is that I dun wan to add to their worries…I also have some great frenz like westlife etc who I know are always there..and of cse not forgetting my wonderful gf…

After almost 24 years of my life, I experienced some really big ups and downs in my life. Actually my life is not that smooth sailing as it seems on the surface. Only my closest will know what actually happened…Maybe I will always say I want a xbox, a pda, a new hp or hope to earn big bucks in my business or score many many many Apple trees but actually deep down in my heart to me, nothing beats a nice chat and a listening ear...it’s always nice to have ppl who care for you, show concern for you, remember you and give their attention to you…that’s y I am always super happy when ppl surprise me with things that I din expect they would remember…

Wallow..i typed 2 full pages in word liao..cant believe it…if you dun understand what I am saying..no worries...haha I am also abit blur after typing so much…it’s just a place for me to crap what I am thinking…

haha went night safari today with my dear tonite and it's a v nice place...the tram ride was good..the trails were good etc...although u noe everything is man made but den at least it gives u a feeling that you are in the rain forest..it's the 2nd park of my park hopper tic and next up will be jurong bird park...

A bit no mood to post photos..cos I keep getting scolded these few days...haiz..everyday by different ppl...and i swear i am innocent...cos i din even do a thing...some of the cases i simply answered the phone i got scolded already...guess i am suay to always meet ppl's bad moods these few days..spoils my mood too...

Today was worse..My job for the IT fair went down the drain and got scolded by the person in charge for nothing...tink she PMS...so no $, therefore no $ to change hp...

Going off to redang for a few days from tonite onwards...will be back on fri...The journey there will be long..10 hrs bus 2 hrs boat...tink by the time i reach there will be half dead le...haha but guess the scenery there will be worth it..

Watched davinci code yesterday with my dear and it was only ok...not as good as expected...actually the movie was quite well done..but i guess the element of surprise was missing...if you read the book..you would have expected what would happen at each scene...many parts of the book were missing in the movie or changed and i guess that was to fit in the length of the movie...but overall I still tink it was worth watching...

Yesterday dunnoe what happened to my stomach...just kept feeling hungry...and i kept eating and eating...ate 2 burger king meals, pop corn den went fong seng for prata...all in one nite...wow..that really seems like alot of food...anywae i tink fong seng's standard drop liao...the prata does not seem to be as good...the dinosaur is ok though...

This morning felt abit sian and down cos I had a nightmare before I woke up and it reminded me of some unhappy stuff...it really spoilt my day...i was hoping something would cheer me up...but it din come...din even have much appetite for lunch...surprise surprise for a glutton like me...haha...

Shall go pack now...though not in the mood to pack...will post pics of redang when I get back...hope there is handphone signal there...

A little lazy to blog this week...it has been quite a nice week..going out with friends, my dear and my family..did quite alot of area cleaning of my room this week...but then my mum is still nagging at me abt the mess my room..it looks like a construction site..haha indeed..the clearing up is still in progress...juz dun have the motivation to settle all of it..

The poster business is picking up lately...and I spent 2.5 hrs just to clear my mail and send out numerous mails that day...and juz took pictures of 100+ posters to prepare for the launch of the poster website..haha it is still under construction..or rather in its very early stages...there seems to be endless stuff to do...website, emails, taking pics of posters etc...yesterday just spent 1 hour discussing a deal with my supplier...nowadays doing business seems to be harder and harder...

Ok enough abt work...went to the zoo on fri with my dear..haha we bought the park hopper tickets...Jurong bird Park, Night safari and zoo all for $35...quite a good deal considering any 1 of the parks costs like 20+ already...haha super long nv go to the zoo already...I feel like a tourist!! and I also feel so old...the pri school kids in the zoo on their excursion were all so excited abt their trip..so funny to hear their conversations...Had dinner at bongo burgers...quite a nice place and the food was not bad...of cse had ben and jerry's too..hehe...

Watched over the hedge yesterday...haha very funny movie...should watch it to relax and have a good laugh...some scenes were abit kwa zhang...haha but who cares...it's nice juz to watch funny movies at times..the characters were v cute too..haha esp the little porcupines who know how to drive..oops..haha shall not say too much about the movie here in case you ppl wan to catch it..haha...

Next up is Davinci Code tmr...haha another block buster...so many movies to catch lately...haha but for now..it's back to tv..shall post pics of the zoo when i upload them...

This is the first time in a year that I am doing serious area cleaning in my room...haha and judging from the thickness of the dust...I tink I neglected my room for quite a while liao..only cleaned up and organised my table and the tv area and I am already dead beat...still got to clear my wardrobe and arrange my cds and books...

Today juz brought many bags of stuff back from my hall and this is going to add to the amt of things I have to arrange..haiz...I feel like juz throwing all the stuff one side and then move them back to hall next sem...(if I get a hall)...

Today went to watch poseidon with my dear at the new cineplex...the cinema is v nice...sound system is also v good..esp for action movies...but the air con was super cold..so for those going there..bring a sweater...the sad thing is all the shops haven open yet..but but but but...guess what...Ben and jerrys is open!! so being the gluttons we are, me and my dear went to eat...mango and lime, mint and forgot the last one...nice!!! haha..but ex though...$8.50 for 3 scoops plus a waffle...recommended..will post the photos when i download from my handphone..

Currently reading Davinci Code...ok I know alot of you have already finished reading the book long long ago...haha...I like interesting stories..but reading juz makes me fall aslp...guess I dun need to buy slping pills the next time I get insomia...need to finish it by 18th May when the movie starts...

Yesterday went out for lunch with my parents, grandma and xiling...On the way, even my mum was suanning me abt my reading speed and how I disliked reading since I was young...hmm actually I did read during my younger days...but somehow I just din like to read when I grew old..den my dear laughed at me as my mum suanned me...pretty relaxing day yesterday as the rest of the day was spent at tv and dinner...I like this kind of nua days...

Almost died....because of a coconut..

Forgot to post abt my coconut experience juz now when I was at the beach...when I was walking back home...I saw a sign which said: " Beware of falling coconuts"...it's quite a funny sign when u see the symbol...and i was laughing to myself...den 2 seconds later.. a ultra big coconut fell beside me..tink abt 1 metre away....it's abt the size of my head...hmm...den i was not laughing anymore..if that coconut struck me..tink either I would have suffered a concussion and died or maybe suffer permanent head damage...

It may be a funny thing as u r reading this post...but it's not funny when that idiot coconut fell so near to u...well this shows that ppl can die anytime...irregardless of the reasons...the essence of life can be so strong yet so fragile...

1 whole day at home and I feel that I have done so much work...settled my FYP, went to the bank to settle some stuff..do some work for my mum...settle some paper work..but seems like still so much stuff to do...need to settle some posters stuff...abit bored of the work...

Start of the holidays...

Holidays have started...went over to mark's hse for drinking session on Fri and den watched MI 3 and also cast my vote Sat..not a bad weekend...yesterday spent the day with my family as driver..haha...went temple to pray and then lunch..so tired when I came home...too much driving liao...

Cant stop sneezing at the moment..tink abit sick...haiz...sianz...abit moody...actually is pretty moody...but I have found the perfect solution to vent abit of my unhappiness on...Counterstrike...Found the cd and installed it...shooting at the robots...not bad..keeps me entertained...

Read up abit on my own horoscope online today...yeap scorpios are a more extreme kind..they get emotional more easily but then they are calm when disasters strike..they r also v loyal to their frenz..and also dun take it lying down when ppl bully them..they r also v passionate / romantic ppl to their partners and would often sacrifice anything to make their partners happy..but they are sometimes abit revengeful and get jealous easily...

well I tink it's a pretty accurate analysis of me...sometimes I do get emotional easily but when it comes to tough situations I can stay pretty calm...well whether I am loyal to my frenz..shall leave it to them..and whether I am passionate or romantic shall leave it to my dear..haha..but I do admit I will sacrifice anything for my loved ones to make them happy...hmm I am abit revengeful when ppl do bad things to me but i wont go to the extent of back stabbing them...maybe I will jus dun care abt them or tell my frenz how I dun like this kind of ppl...And yes I admit at times I get jealous...I know it's a bad habit and sometimes I scold myself for it...but sometimes it's jus part of my character...and this part of my character is at work again...abit jealous now...

Shall go for a slow jog now to run my slight flu away...it's been quite a long time I went to my private spot at Pasir ris beach...it's where I always go where I am unhappy...looking at the seas juz cheers me up...and it's the place that I always go to when I wan to think thru things...really a nice place...romantic place for couples too..hehe...

The end of a semester

Last paper tmr...it marks e end of the semester...it has really flown by...week by week...projects, labs, tut, lect etc..haha attended almost all of my lessons, even the 0830 ones and it has really been an achievement...

Worked harder this semester but den in the exams din seem to perform as well as I would have liked...haha maybe it's because I haven been taking exams in ntu too often...so dun have expectations of Apple trees this semester...but crossing my fingers...

Holidays start tmr at 4pm! haha...finally have time to rest and play and sort out my stuff...so messy now...my room at home, my room in hall, my laptop and desktop...and need to select FYP soon...sigh...how to select from hundreds of projects..and one wrong choice and it will affect my honours substantially...tink shall start my fyp start of july...

Advertisement: anyone have single room lobang for next sem??

haha i need a room..!! else have to travel up and down pasir ris to ntu everyday..sigh...

Haha surprisingly, I get to vote in this elections...I thought the opposition wont be daring enough to challenge the Defence minister in my GRC...but apparently they are v daring this year...even the PM is challenged in Ang Mor Kio...so shall cast my vote as a Singaporean next Sat...voting is confidential..so of cse shall not say who I will vote for next Sat...hehe

I tink i overate this weekend...ate 1 and a half pizza, 1 chicken wing for dinner on sat...oops..sounds really alot...den ate so much with xiling's family tonite...my stomach is getting bigger..hehe..need to exercise liao...

haiz..man u lost to chelsea yesterday and rooney broke the fourth metatarsal in his right foot.. meaning he's out for 6 weeks and may miss the world cup..sigh...my team lost and the star of england maybe out for world cup...he better recover in time..haha

Yesterday I was suay again...dun feel like saying wat it is...but guess I was just plain unlucky again..haha I felt suay when I saw that thing from the window...but the funny thing is..after a while...I din care abt it already...haha guess I am already used to it...and shall just enjoy my weekend...

It's been a good weekend...went to Chevron for fried ice cream...haha and it is the first time I went to a restaurant and only ordered dessert...in the end all the waiter and waitress in the restaurant kept staring at me and my dear...hahah...we were so paiseh that we even forgot to take the umbrella..in the end the waitress still chased after us to return the umbrella...so funny...The dessert's pretty good...

Have been having nightmares lately .... dunnoe why...haha i nv do any kui xin shi...tink must be exam stress....yay exams over in less than 2 weeks....

3 papers down..the first 2 din go too well...the 3rd was ok...but the 3rd one was also the most unimportant of the 5 papers...now got a 7 day break to study my next module...can finally get a little breather after 2 consecutive papers...

tink it is time to select my FYP...haha...that will be my bread and butter for the next coming 12 months...lets hope I get a good project as well as a good supervisor...

In a dilemma whether to stay at home or in hall during these 7 days..home is more comfortable but I wont study...School is more condusive for studying but I don't get a single room...

The conclusion...stay home when there is no single room and stay in hall when there is single room...lol

To myself: Do not get into a holiday mood during these 7 days...

It's the exam period and I know I shld not be blogging..cos I have 2 consecutive papers coming up on tues and wed...but really bored of studying...feel like a pig...either studying or slping or watching tv or eating...need to exercise soon...probably when exams are over...

Delivered the exam welfare package to my dear today after some hiccups...haha Murphy's law: wat ever may go wrong will go wrong...u will never meet the ppl u wan to meet and meet the ppl u dun wan to meet...you will always encounter the things u dun wan to encounter and things u wan to happen will never happen...the law is not there for no reason...haha tink i study until goin crazy already...

Spent the weekend in school...feels nice to have a single room...i wan a single room..so anyone have any lobang for single room for the next academic year let me know k...

I just keep screwing up lately...nothing just goes on smoothly...cant even slp well...keep having neckache and backache...and my appetite is like a stock market...either I overeat or I have no appetite for anything..."Can I please stop screwing up?" This is something I keep telling myself lately...But it does not seem to work...Guess have to wait for my auto pilot system to steer myself out of this S***....it always works...it's just a matter of time...

Just lying on my bed this morning and I realised that most of my friends are already attached.. The whole Westlife is already attached and we take months to organise one outing...and the meeting time is 12am ...hahahah...so funny....as for the rest who are mostly my uni friends...almost all of them are attached and we seldom meet up already...wanted to meet up with johnny and hejia when I came back from Beijing but our dinner has been delayed for 6 mths already...it really seems that everyone has their own life already and are so busy...Xiling is actually right...I meet up with my friends so seldom nowadays and actually sometimes I am also lazy to organise outings...cos it's so difficult to do so and it usually ends up with nothing...Next sem adrian and the accounts ppl etc are out of ntu already and my kakis will be getting lesser...haha but at least mr bj is coming back...mark..dun laugh when u read this...lol....

haha maybe it seems abit early...but I have already made my birthday wish for this year...made it so early just because I just want something to look forward to...because new year wishes are even too early...

The more i watch tv, the more i see ppl's msn nicks, the more i read the school's emails, the more sian i get...cos I keep getting reminded...

First paper on thursday...this is the paper i studied the most and in the end...I only could do 1 out of 4 questions...argh...hate myself..those that I supposed to do forgot how to do or made some mistakes...and then the rest dunnoe how to do...haiz...I dun like bad starts to exams..cos it sets the tone for the whole exams..no choice have to just pick myself up and carry on studying hard for the rest of the papers...

Argh can something go on smoothly for me?

Parking fine came last sunday 1208am to be exact....parked at my dear's place and got a fine... dunno y the auntie came last sat...for so many sats I have parked there and nothing happened. this is the first parking fine ever since i got my licence...ppl who know me well enough will know that I seldom put parking coupons.. even on the occasions that I do, 50 cents will do...haha...4 years 4 months and this is the 1st summon...tink i can considered lucky already...cos I am still the winner the the cat and mouse game...

Felt really super sian after getting that tic...it's not really abt the $...but i just dun like the fact that everything goes wrong in such a short span of time...it has been really a bad week...my pillow case was not only wet once...and wat a way to end off the week by getting a summon...

Hope this week gets better....and I know it will....and it better be....cos 1st paper this thursday... pls dun play any more jokes on me whoever is up there...sorry to hx, adrian and gang if I looked listless or off this past week...it has been an enjoyable drinking session last week at adrian's room...

On sat went out with xiling and her frenz and her frenz's bf..haha it was alot of fun meeting them and sure had some nice laughs...and this past week I have been given the honour of my dear driving me ard..haha...honestly your driving has improved alot already...juz need to more practice and you will be fine...but some parts of the drive were pretty "exciting" haha...

I need some retail therapy and some morale boosters to lift my spirits...but first...exams on thursday...till then...study hard everyone

I am staying at home for the holidays...

Have been on a roller-coaster ride since i tink a week or 2 back when IRO started calling me telling me that my HK application was not looking good and they offered me Germany, France etc..Europe in general..Europe was too ex..but WOrld cup in Germany sounds great..but i stuck with my application to HK...

At the same time UROP came in...originally I had already decided against it but tinking abt it...i had nothing on during the holidays..so in the end..i met up with the professors and had a good talk with them...it sounded quite ok...den IRO offered me Mexico...faints...den in the same day..they finally said that i was offered HK...pretty excited with the prospect of having fun there with everyone being accepted and finally something happening is going to happen during the hols...

but well in the end the decision was not to go...felt disappointed and sad abt it but well no one can have the best of both worlds...

wat an irony when I am offered the whole world but end up with nothing...and yet there are so many ppl yearning to go for summer studies...tink iro is goin to blacklist me...haha guess that's life...

everyone ard is either going for grad trip or planning for holidays or going for summer studies in the US or HK...i wan to go for a trip also...anywhere will do...malaysia, jb or even a chalet at pulau ubin...just wan something to look forward to in the hols...

now i dun feel like making any plans for the holidays cos i am v tired of it and afraid of further disappointments...no urop, no trips, no nothing...maybe just sit down at home and watch the world cup...

Watched V for Venetta on Monday courtesy of free tix from xiling, thank you..and it's a nice movie..though some parts are abit puzzling..but the action and story was good...the ending is nice too..shall not write abt the ending here juz in case u guys wan to watch it...Monday did not end too well due to some mis communication but it was resolved in the end...haha but guess my handphone bill is going to be sky high again for the mth of April but I dun mind a single bit...

Felt quite guilty abt scolding someone..but den it also hurts myself to scold her...but actually it was not much of a scolding but more of a reminder of why things happen and the importance of communication...Talking things thru makes ppl understand each other better and even though sometimes some things might be hurtful but it is better for the long run...

I could not agree further..SMS is such a great invention...it allows one to say things that he or she does not dare to say face to face..but it is juz lacking the emotions...but guess the beauty and flaw of it is that it allows the reader to imagine...it will be a test of telepathy...

First paper next Thursday...I hope I can wake up...hope a kind soul can give me a morning call..hee...

Up and downs this week but at least there is progress...both in work and personal matters...talking abt progress...haha haven claim my progress shares yet..got 700...dunnoe how to spend it..haha guess shall spoil myself with either a handphone or palmtop during the holidays..haven been eyeing so many hps and palmtops for the past few mths..but juz cant bear to buy them....after doing my own business..i realised how hard $ is earned...but den again..$ is earned to be spent...u cant take it to ur coffin with u after u die anywae...so mayb shall reward myself with a gadget after exams...juz 1...palmtop or hp, palmtop or hp, palmtop or hp, palmtop or hp....?

Stayed at home the whole weekend since friday...getting real bored of studying..not that I finished studying...but jus bored of studying..i need some entertainment...watching da chang jin..but den also dun feel like watching it all day...and my parents...argh...dun wan to talk abt it here...

Starting to wonder what am i going to do for the 3 mths holidays...had some plans...but now can juz shove it aside...dun feel like wasting the 3mths away...maybe shld start finding a part time job...or start wif my fyp...

Lab Assessments

Had 2 lab assessments in 2 days...both din go well...feel quite sian over it cos i spent quite alot of time on it...and the actions of some ppl really make my blood boil...if u did not spend time doing it..pls do not give excuses like u did not save or the file or u deleted the file away....try giving me better excuses next time instead of such lame ones...And dun promise me that you will do it or lie to me that u did it when u noe u wont do it...

Can some one give me better working partners next time? I dun ask for a genius...just someone who does work...

It's really irritating to put in so much effort and get such disappointing results...perhaps that's life...

Got a virus infection on my toe for the last few weeks that I thought was caused by a splinter...and the end result is a painful procedure done at the medical centre...first a jab den the doc cut off the infected part..super pain...and i haven been walking properly for the past few days cos the wound is at the bottom of my toe..so it hurts everytime i step on it..haha...hope it recovers soon...

last lab coming up and wed and demo for my programming project on tuesday...finally this will mark the official end to projects and labs this sem..had enough of it...learnt quite alot of stuff overall but the labs are pretty sian...hope everything goes well...

I guess I will be more free after Wednesday...haha..exams periods are usually more free for me..and it is the time of the year when i watch the most tv or dvds...haha ppl r goin to hit me when i tell them this...but it is really quite relaxign without labs or lessons...can study at your own pace...or take break at anytime u wan...so exams r ok except when doin the real paper..

looking forward to next week when I can have the whole car and house to myself....

Feeling abit burnt out now...actually i am not physically tired...juz mentally tired...finally the 432 project is over...so much programming...worked till 630am last thurs and yest till 2 plus am to finish up the stuff...so proud of myself that we actually finished...now only left the stupid circuit board left...assessment was originally due this Wed but due to CE Day..it is postponed to next Wed instead...Not really that excited abt that cos this means that it is goin to drag...but at least my lab partner is back to help me...

Really feel like getting out of school now and juz chill out a little...but seems like there is no kaki... haiz..now that the programming project is over..can get a little breather...but seems like abit lost..dunnoe wat to do...feel like juz goin out walk walk and have a good meal...

Got a offer to do research in the UROP program from May to June....a part of me wants to do it and anothe part of me does not...dun feel like staying in hall for another 6 weeks...and not that i mind doin research...but it is goin to be v sian to be stuck in lab 8-5 full time...and goin to be working alone...it will be a good experience but I had enough of workign alone in labs this sem...shall tink abt it more when my mind is more clear...

projects and labs are almost over...but still cant lift my spirits...dunnoe y...and muz see my doc tmr cos my stupid toe juz cant recover..dunnoe whether it is cos of a splinter or wat...but i tink the treatment is goin to be painful...

My lab partner just told me yest that he is down with dengue fever------->implying that I need to do my lab alone again..the same old phrase bao shan bao hai...(english translation cover mountain cover sea) haha how come in my 3 years of uni life..i nv seem to get some decent project mates...I just seem to be always doin GROUP projects ALONE...maybe I would have gotten better grades if my project mates were more onz...maybe i am juz suay ba..starting to get used to it..even my CE frenz say i suay...

so wish me luck for my lab for this coming wednesday's assessment..I really need it cos no one in the lab seems to know how to do it...including me...432 proj due on tue and 301 lab report due wed too...it is goin to be a crazy buildup to next wednesday...

ok enough abt work...feeling pretty sian and off cos of some stuff this week and today also...and my appetite is being affected...haha...take the chance to lose weight..anywae..i am in lecture now..nowadays my laptop is my best companion in lessons n lectures...

Slpt at 4am yesterday again..Haven really had much slp since last Monday...slping an average of 4 hrs a day? I am so surprised I still can last till now..but really abit batt low liao...yesterday was rushing some stuff again..finally made the decision to apply den see how it goes...going to grad in a year..and now it is time to consider my options...

Argh my program cant work using wireless.. so my plans to do my programming while studying at NBS with hx has gone down the drain...luckily i brought some notes along..shall study for the exams...the weather has been so hot lately!! I sweat even after bathing out...argh..hate this...and my single room days are gone..my roomie is back..haha finally after 2 weeks...maybe broken glass in the toilet is not such a bad idea afterall...

It's monday...and maybe it is too early..but i am looking forward to the weekend again...I tink next weekend onwards i will stay in hall and study...time to start exam mode...my first paper is exactly one mth away...jiayou everyone!!

So proud of myself at the moment....after 24 hrs of programming..finally changed my client server program to UDP..haha ok it may sound foreign to some of you but I am currently feeling like a zombie...haven had much quality slp...now is 245am and I am still working on the slides for my presentation on Thurs..I dun wan last min work and my project mates juz sent them in today..ya so have to rush again..but I am just glad that it's goin to be over soon for this project..

Haha on a lighter note, today went to SBS for SBS Day...not bad..had music and of cse food.haha.. thanks xiling for the chocolate fountain marshmellow treat...v nice..how i wish I had one of those at home...haha den can have a party where everyone made their own choc marshmellow...The chicken burger is not bad too...Although this has been a xiong week in terms of work but surprising my spirits is much higher than previous weeks..haha

Goin to have lessons at 830 later..I am now seriously wondering whether I can get up in time...and I am super hungry now...Dun care liao..going to eat cup noodles..else really cannot continue working...haha by hook or by crook I muz go to the 830 lessons later...it's the odd week and lessons have a high stake....only someone will understand....

Jiayou to all of the ppl currently rushing projects, labs, or tut or FYP or anything...look forward to the 3 months holidays...

But i am currently juz looking forward to the end of the week....3 labs, 2 projects and 1 presentation to go for the week...

Sometimes...the title above is the only sentence i speak to a human in a day...tinking back..it's really quite amazing sometimes e only face to face conversation i have in a day or even 2 days is with the auntie in the canteen...and its when i buy food...even if i meet some classmates in some of my classes..they would be usually hi and bye..and sad to say when i see them..it would usually be chasing them for project work...and this really spoils my days..i really hate it...it is really frustrating sometimes...

Attending lessons alone, goin to lab alone (cos my lab partner always fly my aeroplane) etc has taken a toll on me..i have to admit it...i juz hate it...esp when my work lets me down..i dun even have a classmate beside me when i can talk abt it...for ppl who always have frenz and classmates ard them..they really wont understand this feeling..I know this frustrating feeling wont be here to stay..but it juz does not feel good...

Been feeling pressure from quite a few fronts...work from school...the business that i am running etc...cos all of these require my attention and time...ya i do make a little money out of this but den I really just to have nice chats at the moment..haha ok this sounds abit crazy le..maybe this is the kind of post u would expect me at 330am..

Guess next week is goin to be a worse week with presentations and labs all coming up...Well maybe I haven been in the best moods but I haven really taken it out full blast on anyone and I wont because I have always told myself not to explode at the expense of others..that's just me...I just wan to have nice talks...abt anything...i dun even have to talk...i can even just listen to others complain to me abt their stuff now...haha guess now i noe why i was so happy when i saw weili that day...he asked me for opinions for some stuff and it was really a nice chat..and i tink that is the first time i had lunch with a fren for a erm..2 weeks? 3 weeks? or a mth?

pardon me if this sounds like a post ranting abt my life...but i just wan to let a little steam off...

my eyes are closing but dun feel like slping yet...shall watch a bit of dvd and study a little...haha goin to 4am le...maybe i can make it for sunrise??

Abit bored now after a day of lessons..haha decided to do the survey that xiling asked me to do on her blog..

1) whether I like boy boy or ger ger...
haha my answer would be I like both...woooooo...dun worry I din get influenced by movies like Brokeback mountain...haha I like both because both r impt...i like guys because of brotherhood..juz like my gang Westlife...although we juz meet up once in a blue moon nowadays..we r still v good frenz..guess some frenship does not need any maintenance after a certain level...and i like ger ger becos of the same reason as any other guy la...guys of cse like girls la..and i am no exception...hee

2) 8 criteria for my ideal partner...
Everyone has certain expectations for their partner..but well we have to resign to the fact that no one is perfect..and I guess even if u find some1 who is perfect, maybe your relationship wont be that fun compared to others...this is because this person would miss out on the process of understanding and adapting and appreciating his or her partner's imperfections...this process is important because a relationship is about understanding each other...if a person is all u expected..wont u lose the secrecy and exitement of getting to know the person better? haha maybe some of you may tink this is crap...but at least this is wat i personally tink...only a person who loves the person truly will be able to accept the imperfections of the person..

Criteria 1: haha the person loves me truly with all her heart...this would be the most important of all i tink because if the person does not love u, I tink there is no point in being with the person at all...

Criteria 2: I must be able to click well and communicate with the person...haha I would be spending alot of time with this person so must be able to tan de lai with this person...else the r/s would be so sian if you are not able to chat anything under the sun with this person...

Criteria 3: This criteria is really v subjective..and that is hopefully I have mo qi with this person..hee..i am happy to say that I have lots of mo qi with my dear..there is always just that special feeling with that special someone..somehow, you know when that person is happy or sad or simply noe how she tinks...maybe that's telepathy..and if you and your partner has that...congrats..it is really nice thing to have...

Criteria 4: The person shld be be able to accept my weak and bad points ... I admit i have my weak and bad points too..so hopefully my partner can accept these bad points of mine...

Criteria 5: The person shld be able to like my family...family is v impt to me..and hopefully everyone can nice to each other..else everyday my family complain to me..den my partner complain to me..haha headache leh...den in the end me die...

Criteria 6: I muz love the person! hahaha this is a super important reason..if i dun love the person..haha y would i ask her to be my partner rite...

Criteria 7: Hopefully the person will care for me...esp when I am like down or sian or sick etc..I dun need the person to specially come down see me or give me gifts or cook me stuff etc..i am really happy with a sms or phone call..it is the thought that counts..As long as noe the person care for me can liao..i am v easily contented...

Criteria 8: Actually 8 criteria is too much for me..honestly i dun have too much expectation for my partner...but if i am to name a 8th criteria...guess i will say that my partner shld be a person who I will always feel excited when i am goin to meet her..or be happy juz to see her sms or see a phone call from her...also dunnoe how to explain..it's juz that special feeling..

haha 8 criterias is really too much...as long as the person is the person i love and she loves me back..that's more than enough for me..maybe den you may sae..so ez to b contented? erm..actually yes...i am pretty ez to be contented...i am just a simple person...

Finally it's friday...this has been a hectic week, rushing my HRM business plan, tut and preparing for labs as usual...the project has been a disaster...with my "unusual" project mates..everyone has some kind of prob...some of them are simply bo chap or simply uncontactable when u need them or some juz plain lazy..luckily i did have 1 or 2 more hardworking ones..and in the end I gave them high marks for the appraisal and for those slackers..sorry to say i gave them pathetic marks..in the end I know some of my grp mates were unhappy with me but too bad..they did not do their work and they shld have expected to get this kind of marks...guess there are alot of things in life where we dun like but we have to live with them...

Guess I am really plain suay..for all my years in NTU...i have often got slack or simply cmi grpmates or labmates....but at least when this happens...i learn more stuff myself..the only thing is that i have to sacrifice more slp to get the work done..haven got alot of slp this week..and perhaps that is the reason i keep feeling slpy in lectures...

Argh..my headache still wont go away...irritating...muz be the mad rush this week + the warm weather..hope it goes away...and my toilet is still full of glass...basically everyday i am steppng on some small piece of glass that i din manage to sweep aside...and the hall office is simply inefficient...haiz...one wonders where does all the price fee increase goes to?? it takes more than a week for them to clear broken glass from my toilet and replace the wall mirror...and they still dare to sae the price hike is to provide better services and facilities and help students...

there is only one positive side to them not clearing the glass and that is I get to live in a single room for the whole week...haha for some reason..my roomie dares not stay in hall with all that broken glass in the toilet...hmm maybe he is afraid of glass?? haha...nvm..i am enjoying my single room for the whole week..basically i have the whole room to myself..and blasting music and my tv anytime i like..and switching off the lights and slping whenever i like...

Next week is another odd week and all the labs are coming...haiz..need to prepare for another mad rush again...exams are coming and for some modules i am totally lost..haiz..i have already started on exam revision but progress is super slow...took like 2 days to finish one chapter of a module...that's too slow..!! need to read faster...

Goin to CO concert tmr...give some support to Mr Kunhui...looking forward to a nice weekend...

相逢不如偶遇

Today juz planned to go cant a and grab a bun for lunch..which seems like the routine nowadays..but to my delight..saw Weili! haha so happy to see him cos so long nv see him already..he was my good fren, floor mate and team mate for chinese chess in hall 3 since yr 1..a pity i dun stay at hall 3 now..else can meet up more often...

turns out that he is also eating lunch alone...so we decided to eat tog..haha it has been quite sometime since i had a kaki to eat lunch...cos most of my frenz are at IA..haha mr lu baojian come back quick and sit beside me in the LT pls..haha its pretty bored to attend lessons alone..sorry for throwing u all alone when i went for exchange...

anyway..back to weili...seems like he has grown alot..haha not in terms of size but I found that he has matured..and we updated each other..so much that i forgot wat we updated liao..but the most striking point is that we both agreed that we would both give in to our respective partners and that we would make sacrifices to make them happy...haha he even shared his latest news..but cannot reveal here.else he kill me..but i noe his gf will be a xing fu girl...

Back to school

Term break is over in a flash and the hectic work is starting to pile up again..quite a simple past week with some projects in school, studying and spending time with xiling and my parents..Came back to hall yest to find my face mirror being smashed on the floor...had to clear all the glass and wear sandals while bathing..hope they come clear it up soon...luckily neither me nor my roomie was present in the bathroom when the mirror fell off...tink my toilet is spoiling..previously the lights were out..now it is the mirror's turn..

Had my laptop serviced during the term break too and muz really praise HP..they replaced my mother board, keyboard, scroll pad and battery.. all for free! haha..tink muz be cos i complained too much so they replaced everything for me...in the end the receipt showed that the parts costs more than 1000 dollars..luckily everything was under warranty...

hope these few weeks pass faster..den the bulk of my projects would have come to a close but tinking abt it..better dun pass so fast..cos exams are will be here by then..it's juz the start of term break but it is juz 6 weeks to the start of my first paper..haha din mean to stress all of u by putting that as my msn nick..but well i am quite stunned myself..that's super fast..considering it is juz half the sem gone...1 week of studying for each module and that's it..hmm luckily my papers are quite spread out this semester...

had some wonderful and sad times these 2 weeks...also dun noe how to blog abt what happened...but guess i shall remember more of the wonderful times...life is short anywae..no point keep tinking abt e bad times...y not juz keep the good times..and have a happy life...pretty angry with myself yesterday..cos I already told myself not to behave like dat but in the end i didn't...haha guess i am human afterall...and not like a computer software that executes the way you program it to...Just haven been in the best of moods lately..so the ppl ard me esp my gf has to bear with it..sorry to all of you...

and hope you ppl liked the food reviews..there will be more coming up when i am more free to up load the photos etc...

The new purpose is posting food reviews!! haha this is to benefit gluttons out there juz like me..haha I am goin to be called a pig again when she sees this...I have adopted the habit of taking pictures of food when I dine out lately and to benefit those reading my blog, I shall post the pics along wif my comments on them...if you guys and girls trust my taste bud, you can try these places..haha shall start with the places I have visited in 2006...

went to impresario this weekend.haha quite a nice concert overall with funny videos, nice songs with v meaningful lyrics as well as guest performances by kelly and junyang..but my poor xiling was disappointed cos she waited so long for jun yang but in the end he only sang a duet wif kelly..anyway..special thanks to guoxing for helping me get the $13 tix...owe u one..
