Finally here in Georgia Tech
Arrival at Georgia Tech....
Finally I arrive at Georgia Tech...this is truly a beautiful place....even the shutter bus within the campus is nicely decorated as shown above. It is called a trolley..haha...funny name. It has been a real hectic few days...so little time with so much to do. Things ranging from health checks, registration of subjects, orientation to just simply knowing the campus which is significantly bigger than NTU which pales in comparison when it comes to architecture, beauty and size of the campus...to ppl who tink NTU is big...u r definitely wrong..haha...
I am at a lost of words for description of Georgia Tech... allow me to just quote a few examples: basically it has a football stadium in campus that is super chio and bigger than Kallang National Stadium. Its landscaping around campus makes u have the feeling u are walking in a small serene town instead of a campus. The hall I am staying in is like a hotel room with carpet floors, wooden furniture and the toilet even has a bathtub. My analogy: If my hall 3 room was a 3 star hotel, Hemphill Apartments in Georgia Tech would be Ritz Carlton..haha....
haha enough abt description of the campus...now for some of the bad stuff..haha...not all the stuff here are smooth sailing...just like today in the subject registration, the NTU students had to run all over campus to have their pre-requisites lifted..and it is much worse than registering using STARS in NTU..trust me....it is no fun running all ard this large campus....well..I guess it is just the style of the Americans...they are much more laid-back and relaxed when it comes to work but I am just glad that everything worked out well in the end...except for e accounts students who still could not register...all the best to them...but I have to compliment the staff at Georgia as they have been super helpful so far in everything and I cannot remember a single time when they said no to our requests and I guess this attitude made everything work out in the end.
Less than a week into my exchange and I am beginning to miss Spore Food!!!! Haiz..the food here is all bread, pasta, fries and more bread, pasta and fries...haha the pizza here is enormous!! erm..in maths terms..1 piece of US pizza == 3 piece of pizza Hut..haha..no joke...and it is super ex....!!! Just had a big Breakfast that day for US$2.79 without drink...the muffin was fantastic though...much better than the loti in Spore...haha just told my GIP mates that I dreamt of sambal stingray last nite and they all broke out into a huge laugh...and that led us into the topics of spore food which makes me drool even more now...guess it will be 6 mths later when I will get to see that piece of fish ..haha
