Skiiing at North Carolina (Sugar Mountain)

This post is really late haha....it is like 1.5 weeks since the ski trip....but well better late than never. 2 Months into my exchange and had my first taste (hopefully not the last) of skiing in the US @ North Carolina State. The skiing place is called Sugar Mountain..hmm though I dunnoe why it is called Sugar Mountain but there were guesses from my friends is that the snow is like sugar icing on the peak of the mountain. Sounds logical so I shall stick with that.

Well people who went ice-skating with me b4 will know that I suck at sports that requires balancing..haha so of course the tradition followed when I went skiing. Though it is not the first time I skiied, but I still fell on the snowy mountain like no one's business. Luckily it was snow that I fell on haha...quite comfortable to fall on....

The ski down the slopes of Sugar Mountain was simply thrilling to say the least. Though the end result was always tumbling spectecularly on the slopes and ending up with a mouthful of snow, the andrenelin rush when skiing at high speeds is worth the fall. The ski down the intermediate slope was simply memorable. It was unplanned. I tried to be too smart for once and took the wrong ski lift simply because the queue was shorter. By the time I reached the end of the ski lift, there was only one way down. SKI !!!!! I was struggling to see the gradient of the slope and before I could even balance myself, I have already plunged into the thick layer of snow. If you think falling was bad enough, try getting up on a slope with ur skiing equipment on. It was an unforgetable experience "flying" down the intermediate slopes and the view down the mountain was exhilarating.

Night skiing was even more fun after the snow was relayed and smoothened out. As expected, speeds increased too and no prizes for guessing what happened to me...haha...well overall a very enjoyable ski trip with memorable moments and definitely a few bruises...hee
