Long day

Shall juz briefly post abt today cos i am afraid i will forget tmr...

Had dinner with prof lim mong king who is the VP of NTU tonite near jian guo men...it is the 2nd time that i met him for a GIP meeting, the last time being at Georgia Tech...it is abit funny that both meetings were on diff continents, 1 East 1 West and the irony is that I had nv met him in NTU b4...

He is the founder of GIP and that's why he meet GIP students to get feedback from us...I must sae he is one of the better professors with a great attitude...with the courage to make big changes and take a risk sometimes...he also has the great spirit of admiting that ntu admin has alot of room for improvement and that he will do his best to correct the mistakes... I tink that is the correct attitude of facing the students...only this way will the students have confidence in the school...actually whether changes are made after that is secondary...wat's more impt is that psychologically, students noe that the school is willing to change for the better and help them as well....there are bound to be problems anywhere but the most impt thing having the right attitude to solve them....it has been quite some time since i complimented ntu..haha..

The most precious thing i learnt is probably his philosophy of life....he stressed the importance of being different from others and not to follow the main stream blindly .... and also that dun let the small unhappiness of life ruin the beauty of life as a whole... he noes that we face difficulties when we come for exchanges but that is not impt..wat is impt is that we enjoyed the experience and learnt things that we cant learn from books...i totally agree...

Another point he mentioned was that wat is impt in life is the intangible stuff...not the tangible ones... material wants are secondary and that we shld make the most of our lives to really enjoy wat we like..sometimes we lack the courage juz to pursue wat we really wan.... wat's the point of earning tonnes of money...afterall, we cant use them in heaven after we kick the bucket..haha.. dun tink they accept sing dollars up there....perhaps master or visa...haha ok i am starting to crap... ok the impt pt is life is short..enjoy when you have the chance....and cherish the intangible stuff like family, frenz, loved ones, doin wat u like doin etc...

nice to hear ppl share such experiences once in a while...it really reminds us what is really impt in life....not a bad end to a week...tmr shall nua...lazy to post photos of za ji tonite..shall do so tmr..stay tuned tmr...
