Mardi Gras
Haha by now I am sure most of you have seen the censored version of the Mardi Gras...hee sorry for the failure to post uncensored photos as there are under 21 viewers...hope you all have enjoyed the photos and if you are really interested in uncensored ones...you may msn me..haha
Mardi Gras has undoubtedly been the party of my life. Never ever have I seen a city so crazy and I really mean the whole city. New Orleans is really the place to be during Mardi Gras period and trust me, you have to be there to feel the atmosphere. No words can describe the "highness" of the parties and parades.
The 8 hr drive to New Orleans from Atlanta is certain worth the effort. Haha got my first taste of left hand drive and also speeds up to 100 miles/hr. btw 1 mile = 1.6km. Hmm for ppl who noe my parents pls DO NOT tell them that I drove haha...they will get a heart attack. I was SUPPOSED to have took a bus to New Orleans. hmm ya a lie but den I dun wan my mum nagging me using overseas phone call hee.... I guess I am going to get into trouble when I confess when I get back to Spore..but well..who cares for now..haha. Definitely a hell of an experience to drive in USA. Driving in the country side and along the beach is definitely what you cant do in Spore unless u classify driving along ECP as driving along the beach.
I have also received many qns on what do the beads mean. haha well they are just gifts that guys give to gals as appreciation for them. Well then you may ask, den y do I get so much beads from? Well, it does not rain water in New Orleans. It rains beads. Beads are thrown from anywhere and from any direction. No matter from parades or from the houses from French Quarters, you can catch the beads. They are a sign that you have been to Mardi Gras. Ppl interested can get them from me when I get back. Beads are not the only stuff that you get for free. Cups, key chains, pendants, footballs, softtoys etc are some of the other stuff you get for free. Of course you have to make so effort to catch them when they r thrown but being well trained Singaporeans, each of us got a large bag of free souvenirs. Thank you Spore for training us so well..haha...
Now for the juicy part.. haha flashing...ya ya...the answer is yes. Girls do flash there. And dun ask me whether I saw this or saw that. Everithing is shown in the pics. But definitely I did not give any beads to any girl and ask them to flash..haha but when ppl do flash..it is kinda hard to not look cos it is so obvious..haha. shall not write too much on this part. If u wan to find out, get photos fr me. hee.
The trip back fr New Orleans was also excellent. We took a detour and drove along the beach purposely. The view was breath-taking, with ocassional stops for photo opportunities. Driving along the beach makes one feel so free and relaxed and boy I was glad we chose the long route. Dinner was at a Cajun Fried Chicken Restaurant along the beach. Yes dinner beside the beach. hee. Or rather beside the Gulf of Mexico. US 6.19 for buffet dinner...hahah had one of the nicest and cheapest meals in USA. (shown in photos)
By the time we reached Atlanta it was midnite and back to lessons the next day. Abit of anti-climax but well it is the memories and experience that is important. For ppl planning to come to USA, Mardi Gras is a must but warning for gals, it is veri rowdy and squeezy there so maybe you would like to think twice. For guys, it is "THE" place to be at. Drinking along the streets, admiring pretty gals along Bourbon Street... what more can you ask for?
Time to sign off.. btw this was all written when I am in a class using my laptop cos the lesson is too boring...hee.. Take care everione in Spore. hope that you had a fat CNY by collecting lots of ang pows...arghh..i miss ang pows..no $ liao..sadz...maybe you all can start a Km relief fund soon haha....if I continue touring the States at this rate. Think I will burn a large hole in my pocket. Guess I will have to GA or SJ more often..haha Westlife will get wat i mean. kk back to my boring professor..byeee
